I
am Luci Nepper, owner of Hands of Distinction, Certified Nail
Technician, and Senior Educator. My salon specializes in artificial
enhancements and the health of the natural nail for the Regina,
Saskatchewan area.
I received my diploma as a nail technologist from Avante Garde
College of Esthetics in April 1997. The nail technologist
course is four months in length for a total of 210 hours.
I craved a textbook, more current medical technologies and
information, so decided to continue my education utilizing
mentors such as Beverly Ashdown, Kathi Rochemont, and Tanis
Darling to name a few.
I started my nail business in 1997. My hours were evenings
and weekends only, as I worked full time days in an Administrative
position. I left my day employment at Christmas 1998 to concentrate
on building my home business.
My most recent accomplishment has been in attaining my certificate
as a Senior Educator for the Nail Technicians Alliance of
Canada. I am now qualified to teach non-product biased nail
education. I still have my home business but have incorporated
teaching new technicians into my services.
I initially became involved with the NTAC (Nail Technicians
Alliance of Canada) to promote education and standardization
within the Nail Industry. I advocate a complete education
and legalization and licensing of nail technicians vs product
application techniques courses offered by manufacturers.
I received my Certificate of Administration from the University
of Regina in May 1996 after five long years of night classes.
I concentrated my studies in the accounting field and small
business areas. I also have my Certificate of Computer Science
received in 1987.
